Testimonial - Colin Byrne, Novell (February 2009)

The ECF has always been held in high esteem in Novell, but within a relatively small circle. Now with the focus firmly on cost reduction (not just cost control) the benefit of networking opportunities has been realised at a higher level. I have always promoted the value of the forum widely in Novell and in recent times the penny has dropped with some key corporate players. Our CFO in the U.S now sees the ECF as a high value knowledge pool, essentially adding more value at less cost than some training courses and will commonly ask "what do your guys at the ECF think of this" etc.

Our group is the envy of the U.S - they would love to have something similar. Something that stands out for me is that there are absolutely no egos ! Personally looking around the room last week (19/20 February 2009 - London) you are seeing people with years more experience, higher qualifications, higher positions etc, yet there is no hierarchy, there is no competition. Everyone is willing to learn from each other. This is what makes the ECF tick in my opinion.

It is now held in such high regard that a permanent part of my corporate objectives and personal development plan is to develop and learn from the ECF, with a view to improving processes/results etc. I consider it a huge part of my own development and I actually can't put a price on what I have learned and the confidence I have gained from the forum's members.

Testimonial - Sean Stevens, Wind River (February 2009)

I have been lucky enough to be a member of the EMEA Credit Forum since 2007.

The ECF has provided the opportunity to network and exchange views with some of the most senior credit personal in the industry today.  The knowledge you take away after a meeting is so valuable to your day to day work.  I am lucky that I have a Manager that is fully supportive of everything I am trying to achieve and fully supportive of the time invested working within the forum.

As the Credit & Collections Manager of a relatively small player in the IT industry, it would be fair to say that since becoming a member my career has received a huge boost. I have been fortunate enough to be invited to speak at CCR interactive, write and comment on articles in Credit Collections & Risk magazine and work with a university to help with their credit management course. I don't think any of this would have happened if it had not have been for the support of the EMEA Credit Forum and it's community.

One disclaimer I would have to make is that your team may not be all that thankful to the ECF, if like me, you adopt what you learn and they have to make changes :-)
